Pretty surroundings, helpful staff! Great to have an iron and a hairdryer in the room!
Room was a little bit small, bed was uncomfortable, no hot chocolate or biscuits in the room, Hotel felt vey business like! Beautiful surroundings but felt like s school! Breakfast was not nice! Would stay there on a business trip but not for pleasure!
Everything was superb, the staff at the Hotel treat you very kindly. Dinner at the Terrace Restaurant was beautiful. My steak came exactly to order and dessert was just as delicious. Room Service was fast and they were very co-operative, delivering my personal request even though it wasn't on the menu.
Very convenient for Gatwick Airport and much nicer than the usual airport hotels. We got a pre-paid discount rate which made the hotel excellent value. Even at full-price I would use this hotel again if flying from Gatwick.
The hotel is very corporate rather than charming.
Great room, lovley grounds.
No atmosphrere in the bar/lounge area
The hotel was excellent, staff, building and location were really good. I asked for an upgrade to a superior room, which was really worth the effort in asking. The room was in the Manor house, although not as big as the travelodge we stopped in last year the room was well decorated and equipped. If you get the chance go for the upgrade. Paid an extra 20 pound a night. Well worth it. If you need the train get a taxi to Redhill Train Station. It cost between 10-15 pound each way. Will return again.
Room was a little dusty on arrival and the phone was dusty after cleaning. Those were the only gripe on the whole experience.
We where booked into room 47 (the lodge) this room had a musty smell, which was reported to reception on leaving. That said still had a very comfortable stay as room and furnishings of good quality. A bargain stay at this price.
vwry relaxing excellent food all round very good
breakfast service bit poor -
This was a beautifully set and picturesque venue.
The hotel has an "annexe", which is the gate house to the manor. There are eight rooms there, but only two parking spaces. Getting there entailed trundling my heavy cases back along the narrow drive in the rain, dodging cars by walking onto the muddy verges, as the drive was full of double parked range-rovers.
I was nicely suprised with the room we were given for the price. £59.00 exc breakfast but it was superior with french doors onto a patio. We used this hotel after a holiday as a stop over rather than drive straight home. Very Very impressed and would recommend and look forward to staying again. Already recommended to friends
Loved everything about this place. The building is spectacular, the grounds are huge and easy to relax in. Had dinner in the bar with good Australian wine and lovely meal. Very friendly and helpful staff and easy parking. Lovely breakfast served in the sun filled dining room with pots of tea and coffee. Was wonderful to experience a real English manor house. A very welcoming and casual atmosphere. Could have stayed for a week.
In the Country but close to several locations, easy to get to
Asked for ground accommodation on booking and by phone but still first floor given. Room / bathroom not cleaned. We were couple but towels, mug for one. Easily sorted
Large very comfortable room in the old main building. Very professional and courteous staff. Quiet location, large very well furnished lounges on the ground floor.
Could do with a bit more light in the bathroom.... No place to put the bags (other than on the floor) in the room.
Stunning location, beautiful grounds.
Ugly Annex building at the side that I stayed in. Really does not fit the character of the main building.
Helpful and friendly staff. Great ambience in lounges/dining areas.
Wrong type/dimensions of furniture in bedroom spolit a great week-end.
Excellent value for money in a splendid location, with good bar food and a comfortable (annexe) room.
